Big Dog Eat Child was formed in 2003 by a group of friends who loved to make each other laugh. The goal was to put on one show for friends and family and see what happens afterwards. The realization of their love to perform together has driven the group since, and has produced thousands of sketches that have been in hundreds of shows that have made thousands laugh out loud at Big Dog Eat Child’s loud, fast, silly, and sometimes edgy brand of comedy.
As filmmakers, the guys started before Big Dog Eat Child was even formed, but a quick realization of the difficulties of film making led them to tone down their early aspirations of a feature film made in their teens. BDEC found early success with the short “The Great Poker Chase,” winning a student award at the Third Screen Film Festival. In 2008 BDEC filmed and launched their first short exclusively for the internet, Jones’ Big ASS Truck Rental and Storage. Their internet campaign for the short eventually led to over 2 million hits and three sequels. 8 million views or so hits later, BDEC is showing their drive to produce new material with their recent viral video series Twenty Something Ninja Turtles.
And just to toot our own horn…Big Dog Eat Child is the world record holder for longest looping sketch performance and was named one of the top up and coming comedy filmakers by Rooftop Comedy in 2010. Our videos have garnered over 8 millions views across the internet, and have been featured in festivals, blogs, and television shows on 2 continents.
